The Brand that Refuses to be Flushed: Turds Brand Relaunch

So, 25 years ago we launched the Turds™ onto an unsuspecting public, and for nearly a decade the Turds™ dominated the collector’s community, winning over fans from as diverse a bowl as pub landlords, kids and celebrities alike. Sure, it was niche, it was a unique independent product in a small but growing community.   

 

BUT it was, against all odds a rip-roaring success, with product sales in the UK, Europe, the US as well as Australia and Japan, not to mention beating Lucas Arts in the 2005’s Toy Fair/Collectors Mart ‘Best of Awards’. 

 

The brand is a winner!

 

However, for several reasons which we won’t get into here, the brand went into snooze mode, as we took stock and expanded the studios portfolio. 

 

But just like a lingering fart after a large curry, we never went away completely, we maintained the brand on social media and looked at ways to revive and expand it, after all the fans never went away, they still clung onto the figurines polishing them earnestly as they traded them on sites like eBay, where many succeeded in completing their collections.

 

So it was that between 2010 and 2019 we made regular Comic Con appearances, produced two test animations, two sell out comic con graphic novels, books, cushions, soft toys and other small test batches of merchandise. Even making an appearance on “Dragon’s Den” and while all the little Nuggets we produced were well received, we were still looking for that spark, that extra something to re-light the fart and trumpet our return.

Then the pandemic hit and along with many other studios we took a hit, but we stayed in the game, and it gave us a chance to really navel gaze and take a good look around. 

 

What we saw was that people needed a laugh, and guess what? Our stock in trade was exactly that!  We built our brand on ‘Shits N Giggles’, and in the words of a famous tenured professor, Dr Ross Geller, we realized that we needed to … Pivot! 

 

Realization hit like a large turd in still water, it wasn't about one thing, one product, one campaign, what was needed was a humongous steaming hot pile of shite that filled the nose and mouth of the critics and forced mediocrity into submission! 


We didn't just need a re-launch; we needed a Poop Revolution!

Sure, there will be people who pretend that they don't like fart and poop jokes, but let’s be honest here, every one of us still laughs at poop related jokes/satire if not in public, in private.


There’s a little Turd in all of us!

 

So, we want to officially welcome you to the Turd World!


Over the coming months we are going to be squeezing out a whole heap of brown sticky delightfulness, from our newly polished website hub, social media & “YouTube” channel. The launch of our very own ‘Crapto’ (sorry Crypto) token Buttcoin!  Along with a collectible NFT series, collectible cards, games, comics, books, and a planned animated series and yes, a new series of collectible figurines to give something back to our loyal long term fans… and a crapload more! 


So, get onboard the craziest train you will ever ride!
